In what turned into a field goal battle, the Rams took advantage of Arizona’s inept quarterback play.

Quarterback Sam Bradford played one of his worst games of the year, throwing for just 187 yards and an interception.

Running back Steven Jackson picked him up, rushing for 102 yards and a touchdown on 28 carries.

The defense played tremendously, holding Arizona to less than 230 yards of total offense and forcing two turnovers.

The Rams even lost running back Steven Jackson for the entire second half to a groin injury and still managed to pull out the win.

Kenneth Darby came on to take Jackson’s place and gave the Rams’ offense a bit of a spark in the second half.

A lot of credit should also go to the defense, which settled down after a poor second quarter and really played well in the second half.

St. Louis Rams wide receiver Donnie Avery will miss the entire 2010 NFL season after tearing his ACL in a preseason game.

Avery was streaking down the far sideline trying to make a big catch when his right leg suddenly buckled and caused him to fall immediately to the turf.

He then reached for his leg and rolled around the ground in pain before eventually being carted off the field.

Before being carted off, New England Patriots wide receiver Wes Welker came over to offer his support since he went through a similar injury at the end of last season.

It’s a tough loss for the Rams given that Avery was their most experienced wide receiver and expected to be their biggest playmaker on offense.

The St. Louis Rams 2010 schedule has been released and the team has to be pleased at the lack of quality opponents.

Other than playing divisional opponent New Orleans twice during the year, the only other difficult game is against San Diego.

This isn’t to say that the Rams are going to go 13-3, because they will still be terrible, but they could win a few more games than last year.

The season begins with home game against the Arizona Cardinals followed by a trip to Oakland. Washington, Seattle, and Detroit are next, giving the Rams a chance to start the season off on solid footing.

The Rams will not receive much national attention this year, as the team was not awarded any primetime games.

After winning just one game in 2009, the St. Louis Rams will play a schedule that is ranked near the bottom in terms of difficulty this season.

The National Football League has announced the game dates and times for the 2010 season. For the Rams, they can look and see where they hope to improve in the win column against the 31st most-difficult schedule in the 32-team league.

The season starts with a tough one: defending NFC West champion Arizona comes to town on opening day, Sept. 12. After a trip to Oakland in week two, the Rams will play at home for four of the next six games, leading up to the bye week Nov. 7.

It starts with a home game against Washington on Sept. 26, and Seattle comes in the next week. St. Louis then goes to Detroit, returns home to face San Diego, heads to Tampa Bay and plays host to Carolina.

After the bye, St. Louis travels to San Francisco, returns home to face Atlanta, and hits the road to play Denver as November ends. December begins with two difficult road contests: at Arizona and at Super Bowl champion New Orleans. The home schedule concludes with back-to-back games against Kansas City and San Francisco, and the season ends with a trip to Seattle.

After winning just one game in 2009, the St. Louis Rams hope for better results this season.

They know who they will play and where as they attempt to improve on last season’s one-win campaign.

The National Football League has not finalized dates or times, but has announced each team’s home and road games. The Rams have seven of their 16 games in 2010 against teams that won five games or less last season.

The toughest game appears to be a road contest at defending Super Bowl champion New Orleans. Also on the road, the Rams will face NFC West champ Arizona. The other six games are against non-playoff teams: San Francisco, Seattle, Tampa Bay, Denver, Oakland and Detroit.

At home, the Rams will face only two playoff teams from a year ago, the Cards and AFC West champ San Diego. The rest of the home schedule includes the 49ers, the Seahawks, Atlanta, Carolina, Kansas City and Washington.

Based on the opponents’ winning percentage from 2009, the Rams’ schedule ranks 31st. Only Arizona has an easier schedule based on that formula.
